Dobby is a lovely boy who enjoys wandering around the garden and digging holes! He sometimes refuses to come inside because he loves the outdoors so much apart from when it is raining – then he refuses to go out in it. Dobby is very smart, and he loves to play hide and seek with his treats and is very clever with his commands!

Dobby is described as a very extremely nervous dog, and he can be skittish around sudden movements and loud noises. Dobby seems to prefer females and can be more cautious around males. However once Dobby builds up his trust, he can be very affectionate and loves an ear rub and a stroke! Dobby can take a while to settle when visitors enter the home as he can bark/lunge at them but does eventually settle, (Dobby settles more quickly with female visitors.) Dobby can be extremely reactive and wary in vets. Due to his anxiety behaviours, Dobby requires an experienced adult only home with a calm and quiet environment.

Dobby likes other dogs and is described as preferring other dogs’ company. Dobby could share his home with another resident dog with slow and careful introductions. Dobby can guard high value treats so Dobby would need to be fed separately.

Dobby would prefer a cat free home.

Dobby wears a harness and lead. Dobby can be very nervous on walks due and can be cautious of other people. Dobby can pull initially on walks.

Fostering a rescue dog isn’t something to take on lightly, they need full commitment and a lot of work and patience to allow them to blossom. There may be many challenges to overcome so please ensure full commitment before applying.

Dobby is fully toilet trained. Dobby only uses his crate now as a safe place. Dobby has no history of being destructive. Dobby can be left for up to 4 hours maximum with no problems. Dobby sleeps well overnight with no problems.

Dobby travels well in the car.
