PPTF Romanian Transport Declaration

This document relates to dogs being delivered directly from Romania ONLY. If you are collecting or welcoming a UK based dog, please see our UK Transport Declaration.

Pawprints to Freedom, together with our trusted transporters have set out the following guidelines with a common goal of transporting animals from Romania to the UK safely. As adopters and fosters we require your full support in order to make this possible.

Drop off procedure

  • All adopters and fosters must confirm they have a slip lead, crate and blanket.
  • When you are informed by the transport team of your drop off time slot, please arrange to have the crate positioned at the entrance of your home, just outside your home or in your garden.
  • Place your slip lead & blanket on top of the crate.
  • Once the van arrives, the driver will collect the slip lead and enter the van where they will place the slip lead on your dog and carry them out to the crate.
  • Our drivers will then place the dog inside the crate and secure them, covering the crate with a blanket and leaving documentation on top of the crate.
  • Adopters and fosters are then to check the paperwork and confirm it is correct with the drivers.
  • Once this is confirmed, you can move your dog inside your home. The safest way for your dog is to be carried inside the crate.
  • Drivers will watch to ensure the dog is securely inside the house before driving away.
  • Adopters and Fosters should then send a photo to the transport team to confirm the dog is safely inside the house.
  • If you have arranged to meet at another location, you must ensure your crate fits well inside your vehicle. The drivers will follow the above steps to secure the dog inside the crate in your vehicle and they must remain secured for the entirety of the journey.
  • Upon arriving home, the dog should remain inside the crate as you carry it inside and close external doors before opening the crate.
  • Adopters and Fosters must ensure their dog remains at the property for the first 48 hours after arrival. This is a LEGAL requirement known as Traces, which incurs a fine for non compliance.
  • I hereby certify that the information given in this form is true and accurate and hereby give permission for PAWPRINTS TO FREEDOM LIMITED to process my application as required to help match me to a dog. I understand my information will be passed on to volunteers who require my information to arrange my home check and help me with the adoption/foster process.
  • I understand not all home checkers are direct volunteers of PAWPRINTS TO FREEDOM LIMITED and some are through other organisations or act as individuals that provide such a service within my local area.
  • I understand that providing false information may lead to early termination of any subsequent foster or adoption agreement.
  • I confirm that I am over 18 years of age.
  • I confirm that any £175 deposit paid to reserve a dog is non-refundable under any circumstances and if adoption is cancelled before the dog has arrived £175 of the fee will be non-refundable.
  • I confirm that should a dog become lost or missing due to circumstances considered preventable I am personally liable for any and all costs to the rescue in the safe recovery of the dog.
  • I confirm that I give full permission for PAWPRINTS TO FREEDOM LIMITED to contact and discuss my potential suitability with my registered veterinary practice.

This is a legal requirement, so please therefore ensure the address is accurate to avoid any potential upset to the dog or to you as the adopter/fosterer. If the address provided is different to what we have on file, we will contact you to verify that it is correct before transport is arranged.
