Meet Roo & Fallow, “Roo and Fallow's owners have had to make the decision to surrender them after their child was severely attacked by another dog on a walk. They are very frightened of dogs now and felt it was the best decision.
After the family reached out to pawprints to freedom a face to face assessment was arranged. Our assessor said the following:
The dogs came to greet me and wanted to say hello however they were very gentle. They were happy for me to stroke them. We took them out for a walk and although the owner said they pull they were actually ok, we saw another dog and they completely ignored aswell as ignoring several runners who went past. They are calm, friendly dogs who love fuss but equally don't demand it.
Roo and Fallow are very good with new people visiting the home, they can jump up at first however soon settle down. They have never shown any aggression💞
They have been around children of all ages and currently share their home with a 1 year old who they have grown up with, Roo will mainly ignore children whereas Fallow loves to play. They can therefore live with children following sensible introductions 👶
They accept a collar and lead, they are strong on the lead and can pull. Roo can sometimes bark at other dogs however, this is only rarely and she generally does very good on her walks. Fallow is very friendly and loves to go up to to other dogs and say hello. Both dogs have very good recall and with a whistle or a call of their name they will return. They go out regularly for a run everyday and they are happiest running around the fields. Ideally they would love a garden in their new home to be able to run around in and enjoy the fresh air 🐕🦺
They have been around dogs and are very good with them, they regularly play with a family member's chihuahua and are very gentle with her. They can therefore share their home with dogs following sensible introductions 🐾
They have a high prey drive and cannot be homed with cats 🐈
They are toilet trained but are not crate trained. They have never been destructive and can be left alone together with no issues, they do become distressed when seperated. They sleep well overnight and travel well in the car 💞
Roo loves running, relaxing and her favourite thing is food! Especially anything meat related. Fallow is very attached to her mum but also loves running and meal times! They can be a little worried about loud noises however if the telly is turned up they are okay. They aren't a fan of having a bath or going to the groomers which can cause them to shake however they will let their owners clip their nails. They are very good in new situations and have been to the pub which they coped well with 💞
